When I look up
To rest my eyes,
I swear I cannot see.
Not window pane
Nor passing car;
Just thoughts inside of me.
Darkness dazzling
Empty spaces
’round a vivid voice.
Words and pictures
Skitter scatter
Amidst creative choice.
I swear I dream
While Im awake,
My eyes exposed to light.
And what I chase
Within that dream,
I know means more than sight.
